Bent construction glass

One of the products in which we specialize is curved glass.

Bent glass is obtained in specially designed furnaces for this purpose through a slow process of heating flat glass, until its plasticity temperature is exceeded. Due to the force of gravity, the glass pane takes the shape of a mold (concave or convex) mounted in the furnace.

After the heating process is completed, the glass is slowly cooled down, which guarantees a product free from internal stress.

Bent glass finds a wide range of applications in both large architectural projects and private orders.

The recipient of bent glass we manufacture is the refrigeration industry, furniture and automotive industries, construction and a number of architectural companies that find many innovative solutions for bent glass, allowing to capture its uniqueness, individuality and classic beauty.

Bent glass can be used in projects such as:

– staircases

– elevators

– external and internal glazing

– balustrades

– door

– wardrobes and shop windows

– showcases

– shower cabins

– tables

– furniture

– car windows

– windows for railway and subway cars

and many other.

Features of the glass: Bent glass obtained in this process is not tempered glass, so it is possible to cut, drill and grind the edges

TYPES OF UNHARDENED BENT GLASS

monolithic curved glass

A single piece of bent glass, obtained in the process of settling the heated glass on a special form. Today’s technology allows, in addition to gravity, to use mechanical tools supporting the bending process to obtain very small radii, irregular and inverted bends as well as spherical shapes. Bent non-toughened monolithic glass breaks into large irregular and sharp pieces, therefore it can be used only where it is not exposed to direct force.

glass thickness: 2 – 19 mm,

Restrictions bend radius: #4 – min. 100 mm, #6 – 140 mm, #8 – 200 mm, #10 – 300 mm, #12 – 400, #15 – 700 mm #19 – 1400 mm

Mark: Float

application: glass in the frame mounted without holes, furniture, refrigeration

Bent laminated glass VSG

The “glass on glass” bending technology allows to obtain the required set of two or more sheets laminated (glued) with a special foil. The broken sheets are held by a foil sticking them together to form a barrier designed to protect against random events as well as vandalism and burglary. Laminated glass is used everywhere where protection against falling out, falling objects, bullets, noise, etc. is required. Using special foil you can get temporary fire protection.

Glass Thickness: almost every possible packets

bending radius restrictions: #4 – min. 100 mm, #6 – 140 mm, #8 – 200 mm, #10 – 300 mm, #12 – 400, #15 – 700 mm #19 – 1400 mm

Mark: VSG xy.z

VSG – means the laminated glass

X – the thickness of the first packet format

Y – thickness of the other packet format

z – thickness of the used PVB foil – 0.38 mm – 1, 0.76 mm – 2, etc.

application: glass in the frame mounted without holes, transport, construction, furniture, industry, refrigeration, advertising

bent insulated glass (laminated, monolithic)

Combining glass forms into insulating glass allows meeting thermal insulation requirements. Two glass pieces (monolithic or laminated) are joined with a special spacer and sealed. A closed gas package is formed, surrounded by glass. This combination gives excellent heat insulation. The choice of the types of glass used allows you to obtain also the protective functions.

glass thickness: depending on the selected frame and glass -> see insulated glass

bending radius restrictions: #4 – min. 100 mm, #6 – 140 mm, #8 – 200 mm, #10 – 300 mm, #12 – 400, #15 – 700 mm #19 – 1400 mm

x – type/glass thickness of the first layer (marks VSG, ESG, VSG/ESG)

y – Type/glass thickness of the second layer (marks VSG, ESG, VSG/ESG)

HARDENED BENT GLASS

The maximum dimension of glass: 2400 (arc) x 4200 mm

The minimum size of glass: 250 (arc) x 350 mm

glass thickness: monolithic: 4 – 19 mm, laminated: almost every possible packets

radii: cylinder sections, single radial bending

Shapes: Any

types: monolithic, laminated or composite version

application: bent tempered glass is used wherever reinforced glass is not needed – mounting on openings, glass exposed to force

technology: it consists in heating the mat to a high temperature (600 – 700 degrees), bending it in a special mechanical process to the required shape, and then rapidly cooling with compressed air. The glass can be further processed – lamination, joining

glass features: tempered glass is a safety glass. Due to the hardening process, internal stress changes, increasing its resistance to mechanical (bending, shock, impact) and thermal factors (temperature differences). When the glass’s strength is exceeded, it breaks into small, pieces, reducing the risk of injury. Glass edge machining and drilling of all types of holes can only be done before the toughening process.

TYPES OF TEMPERED BENT GLASS

monolithic tempered curved glass

(ESG) – a single piece of bent tempered glass. Strengthening glass by changing internal stresses allows for much better strength parameters compared to non-tempered glass. Today’s technology minimizes the visual effects of hardening, increasing the quality of implemented projects. Broken glass breaks into small, pieces, reducing the risk of injury

glass thickness: 5 – 19 mm,

bending radius restrictions: min. #5-#6 – 1000 mm, #8-#12 – 1500 mm, #15-#19 – 3000 mm max. 10000 mm

application: hole-mounted glass, exposed to force, balustrades, glass doors, countertops, shower cabins, glazing

curved and laminated ESG / VSG glass

Appropriate selection of glass bending radii allows to obtain the required set of two or more panes laminated (glued) with special foil. The broken sheets are held by a foil sticking them together as a barrier to be used against random events as well as vandalism and burglary. Tempered and laminated glass is used wherever, in addition to durable glass, protection against falling, falling objects, projectiles, noise, etc. is required. By using a special foil, you can achieve temporary fire protection.

Combining glass forms into insulating glass allows meeting thermal insulation requirements. Two glass pieces (monolithic or laminated) are joined with a special spacer and sealed. A closed gas package is formed, surrounded by glass. This combination gives excellent heat insulation. The choice of glass types used also allows for protective functions.

PROPERTIES OF TEMPERED GLASS

Shock resistance – the increased resistance of tempered glass to shocks results in resistance of the glass to a 0,5 kg steel ball falling from the height of 0.3 meters.
For comparison, it is worth adding that the same sphere breaks 8 mm non-tempered glass falling from a height of 0.3 meters.

bending resistance – toughened glass presents significantly higher bending resistance than non-toughened glass. this resistance is characterized by the fact that the tension while flexing reaches 120 Mpa.

resistance to thermal stress – tempered glass is resistant to temperature reaching up to 200°C.

Crushing – in case of breakage, tempered glass breaks into very small pieces, thus reducing the risk of deep cuts. This interesting feature means that the glass can be used for all structures that require protection against the risk of injury in case of impact and breakage of the glass.

“Heat Soak Test” – spontaneous cracking of tempered glazing cannot be ruled out. be excluded. In order to maintain the stability of the structure and its components, both internal and external, and the safety of users, the consequences of this risk should always be considered. The risk of self-breaking glass can be significantly reduced by using additional heat treatment of tempered glass called “Heat Soak Test”. This process involves placing glass elements the furnace and subjecting them to specific temperatures.
